Questions Q: When is the London Santa Claus Parade? A: The London Santa Claus Parade will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Q: How can I purchase event tickets? A: Tickets are not required to enjoy this event. Q: Will the parade be shown on television? A: Unfortunately not. However, we will have a the video available on our website after the parade. Q: How can I purchase a DVD of the London Santa Claus Parade? A: Please contact our brian@balanceproductions.ca to purchase a DVD. Q: Approximately how long will the parade be? A: The London Santa Claus Parade is currently scheduled to step-off at 6:00 pm E.S.T. It will take approximately one hour to reach the end. If are are waiting at the end of the route, the first float will probably arrive at approximately 7pm. Q: Where do we sit to watch the parade? A: Their is great viewing in various areas of the parade route. Please arrive early to ensure your position. Q: Where do I drop off volunteers and participants? A: Please drop of the participants and volunteers on one of the streets away from Dundas and have them walk to their position. If you are having difficulty finding your area, please ask one of the many Marshals for assistance. Q: Where do Floats enter the parade? A: All floats must enter the parade from Highbury where a marshal will direct you to the proper location. Q: Where do I park? A: Please find a parking area on one of the streets away from Dundas. Q: How can I volunteer for the London Santa Claus Parade? A: To inquire about volunteering, please send an email to info@londonsantaclausparade.ca. You will then be contacted by our committee should we be interested. Q: My son/ daughter is interested in voluteering to acquire community service hours? A: We look for high school boys and girls, over the age of 16, who can act as clowns and characters during the parade. Costumes will be provided. We will priovide the high school a signed document stating they have participated after the event. Q: Can you provide us a float to ride on? A: All participants are responsble for their own entries. Q: How Many Characters or Mascots can be included with my entry? A: We want to make this parade as entertaining as possible for all the families and children. We would encourage multiple characters and/or mascots to accompany your entry. Q: I am a performer/band interested in performing in the London Santa Claus Parade, how can I find out more? A: Any bands, musicians or entertainment interested in performing in the London Santa Claus Parade should forward a demo reel to info@londonsantaclausparade.ca. You will then be contacted by our committee should we be interested in booking you. Q: Is there a fee to enter the parade? A: Yes. The fees pay for bands, entertainment, float repairs, fuel, insurance, legal, taxes and administration costs. the fees are outlined in the partnership details link. Q: What is the cost to put a float in the parade A: Please visit http://www.londonsantaclausparade.ca/enter.html Q: Why was the parade date moved ahead? A: Having the parade at the end of November caused a lot of problems for seniors, children, bands and entertainment. We were loosing spectators due to the extremely cold temperatures and the bands began having difficulty with their instruments. Not to mention the stilt walkers and unicycles who could not entertain if the roads were slippery. The parade committee passed a few dates by the City of London and 2nd week of November was the agreed upon date. Q: Can we partner with another group or have sponsors assist us with our entry? A: Yes. More than one company can team together to participate. Q: I'm having difficulty coming up with the entry fee? A: If you are a company or corporate entry, we would encourage you to find a sponsor to assist with your entry. However, If you are a community group, school, animal or youth group, please contact our parade committee. Q: Can we place a sponsorship banner on our float? A: Yes, a 2 foot x 2 foot sponsorship sign can accompany your entry. |
